A national webinar on “Internationalizing Degree Profiles: A Strategic Pathway towards Preparing Global Citizens” was organised on May 26, 2022 by IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. 204 participants from all over the country registered for the workshop. Dr. Ashok Gupta, Chancellor, IIS (deemed to be University), delivered the welcome address, Prof. Raakhi Gupta, Rector & Registrar, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur highlighted the importance of internationalization of degree profiles in Higher Education and presented a comprehensive overview of the workshop. The event was moderated by Dr. Rimika Singhvi, Head, Department of English, IIS (Deemed to be University), Jaipur. The opening remarks /inaugural Talk was delivered by Prof. Tatiana Fumasoli, Director, Centre for Higher Education Studies, IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education & Society, University College, London and Dr. Jim McKinley Associate Professor, Department of Culture, Communication & Media, IOE, UCL’s Faculty of Education & Society, University College, London, He discussed at length about foreign education bill and New Education Policy 2020. He also highlighted various dimensions of globalization of workforce, international research collaboration in the wake of COVID Pandemic and use of innovations.
The workshop comprised of six technical sessions. The resource person for technical session I was Dr. Aparna Rayaprol, Associate Director, Office for International Affairs, University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Her expert talk focused on Internationalized Degree Profiles for Preparing Global Citizens.
The resource person for technical session II was Dr. Nimit Choudhary, Professor, Department of Tourism, Hotel, Hospitality & Heritage Studies, Jamia Millia Islamia University, New Delhi, She reflected on International Dimensions of Curricula
The resource persons for technical session III was Dr. Chetan Singhai, Associate Professor, School of Social Sciences, Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru. His expert talk focused on Internationalisation Degree Profiling.
The resource person for technical session IV was Dr. Shyamala Hande, Professor, Department of Basic Sciences, Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Jaipur, She reflected on Internationalized Degree Profiles: Design and Implementation.
The resource persons for technical session V was Prof. Rashmi Jain, Head, Department of Sociology, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. Her talk is on Towards a Global Competency Framework.
Technical session VI was on the topic Why Cultural Quotient and Cultural Intelligence are Important ILOs? The resource person for the same was Prof. Sudhir Jain, Associate Professor & Programme Director, College of Healthcare, management & Economics, Gulf Medical University, UAE.
Closing remarks were delivered by Prof T. N. Matur, Vice-Chancellor, IIS (deemed to be University).
