Guidelines:

1)     Each student in the first year needs to earn 4 credits (two credits in each semester) through participation in extra curricular activity Viz. Sports/ NSS/ NCC/ Cultural. The activity chosen will remain the same for the first two semesters.

2)     Each student needs to clock up minimum 15 hours of activities per semester in activity chosen by her in order to earn 2 credits per semester.

3)     Faculty coordinator of each activity (Sports/ NSS/ NCC/ Cultural) will organize one class of one hour duration on each Monday of the week for conducting activities which may be supplemented by guest lectures, workshops, camps, intra and extra mural activities, project works, seminars etc on other days of the week in order to meet the requirement of minimum 15 hours and maximum 30 hours of activity in one semester.

4)     Attending a camp or workshop (e.g. annual NSS & NCC camps, Interuniversity tournaments, fashion show workshops, dance workshops, drama workshops etc.) of minimum seven days may earn a student 10 hours of activity for the semester in which the aforementioned camp tournament/ workshop is organized. This is subject to the student attending all days/ all sessions of the camp/ tournament/workshop.

5)     For all the defaulting students who fall short of attendance inspite of these efforts, remedial classes will be held in  June- July as per the following norms:

1 hr/ day for 15 days- 2 credits

2 hrs/ day for 15 days- 4 credits

1hr/ day for 30 days- 4 credits

6)     Faculty coordinators of each activity should prepare a detailed calendar of year long activities.  The same should be displayed on the notice boards and also on the University website for the benefit of the students.

7)     The coordinators should also maintain a proper record of the attendance of the students and before a semester ends, a list of students who fail to clock up the minimum hours of activities for earning the 2 credits for the semester should be prepared by them and the same should be displayed on the Notice Boards. The students should ensure that their attendance is marked by the coordinator when they attend the activity.

Since it is mandatory for all students to earn 4 credits in the first year itself, the results of those students who fall short of 4 credits will be withheld and will be declared only after successful completion of the activity component. For such students special remedial classes will also be conducted in the month of July. The students may take advantage of the same and earn the required credits.
