The cake decoration activity was organized as a part of Home Management Guild activity by department of Home Science on 27th August, 2016.  This activity was opened for all the university students and around seventy students eagerly participated in it. The activity started with the welcome speech which included a brief introduction of our expert, Ms. Pooja Gupta, who is our very own alumni and is also running her own outlet Temptation Premium Chocolates. She is an expert in making pure Belgium chocolates, desserts, soufflés, mousses, muffins, brownies, sponge cakes and puddings etc.

She began the activity with an elaborate explanation of the two cake recipes namely black forest and eggless vanilla sponge cakes. She also discussed about the various tools and equipments such as different kind of knives, palates, boards and containers which she was using during the demonstration. She also made an attempt in preparing the recipe of Ganache and in teaching the various methods of preparing chocolate decorative items namely fans, cigars, bangles, curls etc. for garnishing the cakes. She taught the cake decoration which involved the procedure of icing and garnishing of the two cakes. Besides, this she also gave small tips which one should keep in mind while making cakes.Lastly, the decorated cakes looked very appealing and were also very delicious in taste. Finally the activity on cake decoration was very interesting, knowledgeable and fruitful for the students as well as the faculty members.
