The department of Fashion & Textiles conducted a guild activity for thestudent of the IIS (deemed to be University) on the topic “BEST OUT OF WASTE, on 28.07.2018 in Back stage. The resource person for the same was Ms Raj Dholiwal, Artist of Pidilite, Jaipur.
The demonstration was focussed on making jewellery for girls through waste fabrics. Best out of waste is one such craft which follows this environmental friendly principle and at the same time creates useful and picturesque objects out of waste products. In order to make students aware of uses of waste material and to give them a lesson on reducing waste to save our future.
The values like preservation, recycling, conservation, reduce, reuse etc. are imbibed on the young heart and minds by demonstrating this noble act of caring our environment. It helped the students to develop their fine motor skills while using different kinds of material and also encouraged them to use waste material for making decorative and useable items. It was amazing to see how scrap could be transformed into such useful and beautiful articles.
The creativity and artistic streak of the students were observed. The students showed their keen interest by participating in the activity. The demonstration was very informative and the students learnt the techniques enthusiastically. This demonstration was very fruitful for the students as it helped them to create their own products in innovative style. 60 students participated in the demonstration.
