Demonstration on “Painting a T-Shirt”

Mr. Biswas gave a demo on painting a T-Shirt with the help of fabric paints and few essential tips to get one started. He told that with a few colours and a suitable brush, fabric painting opens up endless opportunities for transforming one’s wardrobe. Basic instructions and a step by step procedure with explanation of putting an imagination on a piece of cloth, was given in the demo by Sir. The students really liked the simple way of painting a T- Shirt with less forms and efforts and with great effects. He gave instructions to keep the piece of cloth clean and tidy by pinning the shirt to the cardboard to prevent the shirt from slipping around. Sir told that’ there are numerous techniques for adding a great design to your T-shirt. Paint, dye, color spray or print to make your own innovative textile creations. But, I think that the most adorable and exclusive T-shirts are the ones painted.’ This demo was a useful guide that helped students to prepare the T-shirt, to choose the correct fabric paint and provide guides and tips to create for themselves the perfect hand painted T-shirt. And at last he said that ‘Prepare yourself, get your paints and pens ready! It’s time to create something beautiful for you to wear! Prepare your materials and find some inspiration’. Students learn to explore different approaches of finding ideas, coloring, sketching, mixing media and other aspects related to illustrating fashion. It’s all about people and their uniqueness.
