Objective of the activity (workshop/seminar/activity/Visit): To guide students about  the changing  fashion scenario and upcoming trends .

Description (max 500 words):

The Department of Fashion & Textiles has organized a guest lecture for the students of Certificate course in Fashion Designing on 25th November 2020. Ms. Aditi Vyas, Alumni completed her B.Sc. Fashion Design from IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur in 2015. She represented the University at Asian Designer Week, New Delhi in 2018. Apart from various industrial and social sector internships she has worked as a faculty in NIMS University, Jaipur, where she delivered lectures on Garment Making Technology and Textile Crafts. She has written academic paper titled, ‘Metamorphosis of Phad paintings into Contemporary Products’

  She enlighted the students with some important aspects of fashion industry such as the sources of Fashion and the Fashion Movements. She beautifully explained the fashion cycle, factors affecting the slow fashion movements, theories of fashion and factors affecting past fashion movements, lastly she briefed the students for fashion forecasting.

 The renowned speaker Ms. Aditi Vyas was well equipped with interesting examples and experiences to make the understanding of the fashion trends forecasts easy and playful. The students could easily connect with the information shared by the resource person as she spoke very precisely on each and every topic.

Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: The workshop was concluded on a very cheerful note. A lot of concepts were explained so well that the students were left highly motivated and more enthusiastic to enter the world of fashion.
