An Animation Workshop For The Students
Duration- 3 days ( 30 August 2012- 1 September 2012 )
Activities:-
Day 1-
1st Hour:-
- Introduction to Animation.
- Brief history.
- Types of Animation.
- Why is drawing important for animation?
2nd Hour:-
- Introduction to Principles of Animation.
- Examples of the animation principles. 6 out of 12 Principles.
- Exercise session with the students. Explaining them the principles with the help of drawing.
3rd Hour:-
- Examples include- ball bouncing, pendulum, wave motion and bird fly.
- Movie session- A small movie of not more than 15-20 minutes.
- Question- Answer round.
Day 2-
1st Hour:-
- Brief discussion on last day’s session.
- What is the difference between comic art, graphic novels, and storyboarding?? With apt examples.
2nd Hour:-
- Examples of animation principles. Remaining 6.
- Exercise session with the students. Explaining them the principles with the help of drawing.
3rd Hour:-
- Introduction to flash. Explaining the interface, its tools and shortcuts.
- Small examples in flash using motion presets- shape and motion tween.
- Movie Session- 15-20 minutes.
- Question- Answer round.
Day 3-
1st Hour:-
- Explaining the tools in details with their respective properties.
- How to work in a scene using timeline and animation presets.
2nd Hour:-
- Small Animation Exercises with students- ball bouncing, pendulum.
3rd Hour:-
- Composition and Layouts- Background, Foreground and Midground.
- Movie Session- 15-20 Minutes.
- Question- Answer Round.
Materials Required- Pencils, A4 sheets, Erasers, Scale, Writing Pads (hard board), Sharpeners.
