Activity on Ribbon Embroidery

The department of Fashion & Textiles conducted a guild activity for all students on “Ribbon embroidery” on 21.09.2018 in E 404 . The resource person for the Ribbon work embroidery was Ms. Neetu Vyas who has 10 years of experience in this field.
Ribbon embroidery is a romantic, old art that uses ribbon, embroidery floss, and cotton to work beautiful floral motifs and decorative stitch patterns by hand on garments and accessories.
In this activity student learn the basic stitches and flowers on a composition.
The resource person demonstrated how to use different types of Ribbon work on cotton fabric. She explained to the students about the process of using different embroidery stitches to create beautiful designs. She gave demonstration on design development by using various stitches and sizes of Ribbons.
The artist demonstrated the technique and helped the students to actually make their own samples. Students also learnt the applications of these skills by looking at various samples that had been put on display.
