Objective of the workshop:
- To explore the possibility of making accessories with beads, ribbon, laces and papers.
- To create your own unique handmade necklace, earring and bracelets.
Summary/Description:
The Department of Fashion & Textiles conducted a guild activity for the students of B.Sc Fashion Design Semester III & V on “Accessories making” on 11/10/21 in back stage. The resource person for the same was Ms. Aditi Gaur, Freelance Designer, Jaipur.
The activity focused on creating the jewellery through ribbon, beads, paper, laces kodi etc. which included Bangals, earrings, rings, necklace etc. Ms. Gaur created different designs of jewellery by using different types of material. She also shared jewellery made by her with students, so the students get an idea and can create and develop various designs.
Students showed inclination towards the demonstration and tried to make jewellery items using various material .The students showed keen interest in the activity by active participation in the jewellery making. This activity helped to enhance not only creativity and presentation skills of the student-teachers but also helped them to realize the importance of recycling and reusing material available to them.
This demonstration was very fruitful for the students as it helped them to create their own jewellery in a short of span of time. Approximately twenty students participated in this activity.
Outcome of the workshop:
- Students gained knowledge and obtained skills about using the any material such as laces, beads, threads, paper etc. for new product development of accessories.
