Objective of the activity: To establish a rapport with the villagers and to create awareness about benefits of Yoga and Menstrual Hygiene
Summary/Description: Yoga awareness and pad distribution session was organized in the Neota village near Jaipur by the Department of Sociology and Centre for Swachh Bharat and Swastha Bharat. The activity was conducted in a government school of Neota village. A brief introduction was given about yoga that it is union of body, mind and soul and practicing asanas is just a part of it. Various yoga postures were shown to students which were to be done in the morning so as to give good stretch to the body. Team also told them about the importance of doing yoga in the morning and to develop the habit of doing it. Students took keen interest in the session and also shared the health issues faced by them. A team of doctors from Mahatma Gandhi hospital also visited the school and told them to do vigorous exercise in order to keep body healthy and fit and they also made the school as well as college students aware about different types of cancer which was a great initiative. Pads were also distributed among the schoolgirls to make them aware about the use of pads and an interaction was done in order to know about their hygiene during menstruation.
