Summary/Description (max 500 words):
The Alumnae Association of IIS (Deemed to be University) in collaboration with Gender Champion Club, IIS (Deemed to be University) organized an interactive session on the 4 th February, 2023. The issue addressed was “Women and Crime” which was graced by the presence of artful speaker Dr. Priyanka Raghuvanshi, ASP, Abhay Command and Control, Ajmer. The speaker in the interactive session discussed the key issues of Gender Equality, Government Provisions, Women and Crime. She began her address with the glimpses of her life journey, challenges she faced and how she over came them. She further discussed the various issues faced by females like gender biasedness, discrimination and crimes against them. She also discussed about the various schemes and initiatives of government to give secure environment to women. She highlighted the various endeavour of police to control crimes like Abhay Command and Control, Sigma Chetak, Operation Garmia and Nirbhaya Squad. She also mentioned about CPC Program for school student to open hitch and for positive image building of police.
Towards the end of the session the stage was kept open for Questions from the audience. She very zeal fully cleared the doubts of audience.
Outcome of the activity/event/seminar/workshop: The session was very enlightening and successful in creating awareness among the students through the Speaker’s own experiences. It encouraged the girls to face the challenges boldly and report crime immediately.
