The lecture focused on plastic pollution and its cultural impact, examining how globalization has led to the decline of traditional eco-friendly practices and the rise of plastic use.

Prof. Khan discussed the global scale of plastic pollution, its harmful effects on the environment, and the conflicts it creates due to finite natural resources. He highlighted the scientific understanding of plastic as a synthetic human innovation designed for convenience, but with severe environmental consequences.

He also spoke about global efforts to reduce plastic consumption, including recent World Environment Day initiatives and research on eco-friendly alternatives, though these solutions are still in their early stages.
