Objective of the Event:
The event was organized to promote awareness about cleanliness and sanitation in rural areas, to inculcate civic responsibility among students, and motivate the local community to adopt proper sanitation practices.
Summary:
The Swachhata Abhiyan was conducted as a community outreach activity by the Centre for Swachh Bharat Swastha Bharat in collaboration with the UBA Committee, IIS (Deemed to be University), on 28th July 2025 at Neota Village, Jaipur. The sanitation awareness campaign took place from 9:30 AM to 12:00 Noon, involving 33 students under faculty supervision. The event included a cleaning drive where students cleaned village streets, school premises, and public areas using brooms, gloves, and waste collection bags. Several villagers also joined in the effort. This was followed by a Swachhata Awareness Rally, during which students carried banners and placards displaying slogans that encouraged villagers to maintain hygiene by avoiding littering, using toilets, and managing waste properly. Women and youth from the village actively participated as well. The event successfully combined practical cleaning activities with awareness generation, leaving a positive impact on the community.
Outcomes of the Event:
The campaign successfully raised villagers' awareness about cleanliness, sanitation, and proper waste disposal methods. It provided students with practical experience in community service and environmental responsibility, while the cleaning drive and awareness rally inspired local residents, especially the youth, to participate actively in keeping their surroundings clean. The initiative also helped strengthen the bond between the university and the local community through this significant social outreach effort.
